It all began in 1992 at Mia Francesca, our first location in Lake View, Scott Harris, a chef with a big dream, a few friends and some borrowed cash from Grandma, opened the doors, Spoiler: It was a hit. But it wasn't just about the food: it was about the experience. Scott Fell in love with Italian cuisine - not just for its flavors, but for its simplicity. It's soul, and its ability to bring people together around the table.
From a Little Trattoria, to a Big Family
What started as one cozy trattoria quickly grew into a family of restaurants Grandma would smile about. Today, there are a collection of Francesca’s across Chicago (and beyond), each with the same hearty spirit and rustic charm. But no matter how much we’ve grown, we’ve always stayed true to our roots. Scott still obsesses over every detail—from the carefully crafted menu to the way the pasta is plated. All to make sure every Francesca’s feels like home, no matter where you are.
